Why I Stopped Treating Cable Markers Like a Throwaway Order
I'm the office administrator for a 110-person industrial controls company. The deeper problem: cable markers are an afterthought
The real issue isn't the marker. It's when markers get specified.
In many projects, the panel design is done first. Engineers choose the PLC, the power supply, the relays, and the terminal blocks. Marking gets decided at the end—sometimes by the technician on the floor with whatever is in the bin. That is exactly how an inexpensive part becomes an expensive mistake.

If you swap in a similar-looking part, you might be changing the wire range or the material's temperature rating. That consistency made my job easier, which means my internal customer is happier.
If you're dealing with a bin of unlabeled cable markers, don't start with a brand comparison. Start with the wire. Then verify the part number, then order. It's not dramatic advice, but it's the kind that saves you from a five-day rework caused by five minutes of skipping the spec sheet.
